Behind the reading room
About Punjabi History.
An independent, source-led reading room for Punjab and Punjabi communities. Learn about the scope and the actual state of this foundation edition.
A place to begin—and to look closer
Punjabi History is an independent English-language reading room commissioned by Danny Rasul. It follows the people, places, languages and living heritage connected with Punjab and Punjabi communities. It has no claimed affiliation with an archive, museum, university or government.
The scope includes both modern administrative Punjabs, historically connected places and diaspora settings. Articles identify the place and period they address. A connection to Punjab is not treated as proof of a person’s ethnicity, religion or self-identification.
