Between Shorkot and Garh Maharaja

Riaz Javed’s August 2021 report calls the Muharram gathering at Sultan Bahu’s shrine in Garh Maharaja a ten-day Urs. Its described schedule places the custodian’s rose-water bath of the shrine on Muharram 9. Traffic official Khalid Qureshi explains another part of the visit: devotees first go to Darbar Mai Baap, the shrine of Bahu’s parents at Shorkot, before continuing to Garh Maharaja. Traffic management and emergency posts connect these stopping places. The report thus gives a route and ritual schedule, rather than only a destination. Its use of the word Urs does not by itself establish that this Muharram gathering dates Bahu’s death anniversary.[1]

Around the Kasur mausoleum

An August 2024 APP report describes a Kasur meeting about Bulleh Shah’s Urs. Deputy Commissioner Aurangzeb Haider chaired the meeting, where district officials and members of the religious-affairs committee reviewed preparations for 30 August–1 September. Directions included cleanliness around the mausoleum and assistance for pilgrims. The surrounding area enters the account alongside the tomb itself: visitors would need to approach and move through it. These are named responsibilities within one announced programme, not a fixed Gregorian schedule for every year.[2]

Departments and camps at Multan

A July 2025 Multan announcement describes preparations for Bahauddin Zakariya’s Urs involving police, Auqaf, the municipal corporation and Rescue 1122. The deputy commissioner directed departments to establish camps at Qila Qasim Bagh and called for lodging, food and traffic arrangements. Several organisations were expected to support the gathering through different functions, with camps providing a named place for assistance. The announcement’s promises of hospitality remain plans; they do not independently certify the facilities visitors received. Nor does the anniversary number in its headline provide a new basis for calculating the saint’s life dates or the history of the shrine.[3]
