An institutional biography shows how one bearer of the name is documented in public life; it does not establish a family relationship with other people called Dhillon. The award record places a different bearer of the surname in a particular school and literary event in British Columbia. It does not establish any family relationship to Gurdial Singh Dhillon. Together, these dated examples show the name appearing in distinct public and Punjabi writing contexts.
