Jagdeep Raina in museum records
An Art Gallery of Ontario interview identifies Jagdeep Raina while discussing his Punjab-related textile and drawing practice. In the 2022 conversation, he recalls beginning research on the Green Revolution in 2018, studying Satinder Chohan’s archive and continuing textile learning during a 2019 Lahore residency. The full name identifies the person giving that account; the interview records his creative perspective rather than independently verifying every historical claim.[1]
The Textile Museum of Canada’s Chase exhibition record also uses Jagdeep Raina, alongside curator Shauna McCabe. It connects embroidered work and drawings with personal records, oral histories and diasporic archives, and schedules the exhibition from September 2021 to April 2022. Artist and curator credits identify different roles in presenting this material. One caption records Raina’s Chase for more, dated 2019, as embroidery thread on muslin, keeping the artist, title, material and object date together.[2]
A name with an institutional qualification label
RISD’s November 2016 account of Kara Walker’s campus visit names Jagdeep Raina with the notation MFA 16 PT. Its caption and article describe him introducing Walker at the 18 November event, alongside another participant, Kelly Mitchell. The qualification notation belongs to the institution’s alumni presentation. It is not part of the given name or a reason to attach Walker’s comments to Raina.[3]
Jagdeep Sidhu in a Punjabi film record
The BBFC records Jagdeep Sidhu as director of Jatt & Juliet 3, a Punjabi-language film produced in 2024. Its separate cast field names Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa and Nasir Chinyoti. A classification date of 12 June precedes the recorded release on 28 June. The director’s full credit and the work’s title identify this occurrence of Jagdeep within cinema.[4]
Reducing either this credit or the museum records to Jagdeep alone would discard information needed to keep the named work and professional role clear.[2][4]
