The town and the district
The district portal dates Muzaffargarh’s foundation to 1794 under Nawab Muzaffar Khan, governor of Multan, and associates the old town with his fort. It separately dates district status to 1861. This is an official local-history account; it does not provide a surviving foundation inscription or a measured plan of the eighteenth-century enclosure.[1]
Keeping the town apart from the wider district matters when reading this account. The same page contains older district geography and a 1998 population figure. Those figures are not a present-day description of the city or its municipal limits. The useful chronology concerns the settlement’s stated administrative history, not an unchanged territorial footprint.[1]
A hospital after the 2010 floods
TİKA’s account of its 2014 Pakistan activities places Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Hospital in the response to the disastrous floods of 2010. It says a hospital was promised during Erdoğan’s visit, construction was completed in 2012, and inauguration followed in 2014. The sequence distinguishes a pledge, building completion and the start of public institutional life.[2]
The agency credits cooperation with the Turkish foreign-ministry spouses’ solidarity association and describes supplying medical equipment and furnishings. It also records Turkish doctors providing training and consultation while Pakistani authorities managed the hospital. This is the development agency’s account of its own contribution, rather than an independent assessment of clinical outcomes or a claim about all services today.[2]
The hospital and the expansion plan
Punjab’s Infrastructure Development Authority locates the hospital on DG Khan Road and dates operations to July 2014, initially with sixty beds and another forty added within twelve months. Its expansion-project account describes a new hospital building and an energy centre, within a larger master plan that also envisaged teaching and nursing facilities.[3]
The distinction between the constructed buildings and the wider programme is explicit. IDAP says the new building was designed to house 250 beds and lists spaces for emergency care, diagnostics, surgery and wards. Its forward-looking statements do not establish that every proposed college or service became operational on the same date. These records show successive stages of healthcare development, rather than one completed project with a single inauguration.[3]
