An English verse rendering is an identified edition
Oxford University Press Pakistan lists Bulleh Shah: A Selection as Taufiq Rafat’s rendering into English verse. Its record gives 2015,252 pages and ISBN 9780199402885. The description connects the poetry with an oral tradition, the kafi form and performance, including qawwali. It also describes local wedding, journey and harvest imagery as carrying spiritual meanings. Those are useful pointers for reading this particular collection. Retain Rafat’s name when citing an English line: the rendering’s wording belongs to a modern translation, and performance history alone cannot establish an unchanged authorial text.[1]
An audio edition includes later explanatory organisation
RSSB’s Sain Bulleh Shah audio page identifies a Hindi book by Janak Raj Puri and T.R.Shangari, listing its ninth edition in 2002,384 pages and ISBN 9788184664621. Its chapter list separates biographical and teaching material from sections on language, editing and selected kafis, followed by other poetic forms. This arrangement shows a publisher’s way of presenting the corpus. The interface also names the English title Bulleh Shah, but its Hindi edition details should not be transferred to that other language version. Cite the actual edition and chapter consulted, distinguishing explanation from the attributed poem.[2]
Use scholarship for its stated question
Western Sydney University records Ashna Hussain’s 2018 master’s thesis Politics, Poetry and Pluralism: Bulleh Shah in the Late Mughal Empire. Its abstract proposes studying poetry as a social and political instrument, relating political, religious and cultural life under the Mughals. That supplies a named historical approach alongside the print and audio resources. A thesis abstract identifies an enquiry; it does not reproduce a manuscript, establish every poem’s attribution or document every performance. Before relying on its detailed arguments, inspect the full thesis and the editions it cites. This guide has read the public repository description, not the linked thesis text or audio recording.[3]
