Different written forms

Behind the Name lists Rabia in Arabic, Turkish and Urdu usage and gives more than one Arabic spelling, including رابعة and ربيعة, with different histories and pronunciations. Its Urdu entry includes رابعہ. A shared Roman spelling therefore cannot settle which written form an individual uses. A related entry explains one Arabic form as associated with the ordinal fourth. These interpretations are reference material, not proof that every family intended the same meaning. Ask the person concerned for their preferred spelling and pronunciation rather than inferring identity from an English form.[1][2]

A visual artist in Lahore

A Dawn profile describes Rabia Ajaz as a visual artist who studied at Beaconhouse National University and later at Pratt Institute in New York. The article discusses her interest in painting walls after returning to Lahore and records her account of choosing visual art. It is an interview-led profile from 2017, so its statements about her work and exhibitions reflect that date. An educational prospectus separately lists her Fulbright scholarship and Pratt degree. These records identify one artist; they do not explain why her family chose the name Rabia.[3][4]

A separate exhibition

The News reported an exhibition of miniature painting and calligraphy by Rabia Ashraf at the National College of Arts’ Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq Gallery in Lahore in 2017. This is a separate individual from Rabia Ajaz. An event report establishes an exhibition and its setting, but is not a complete catalogue of an artist’s work. The two examples show the name in Lahore visual-arts records without establishing a relationship between the artists or a shared written form. Name, event and institution together help distinguish people who may otherwise be confused in a search. The gallery where the exhibition was reported is named for artist Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq.[5]
