Radio and television

A Dawn remembrance published after Reshma’s death in November 2013 described her emergence as a folk singer through Radio Pakistan. It reports that a producer heard her singing at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan when she was young and arranged a recording of Laal Meri. The newspaper also names later radio and Pakistan Television appearances. The account links a particular shrine, broadcast institution and song to her public career. It is a retrospective account rather than a complete catalogue of sessions or a transcript of the recording. The radio performance itself was not heard for this entry.[1]

A film song and its credits

A 2016 film-music essay by Manish Gaekwad discusses Reshma’s song Lambi Judaai in the 1983 film Hero. The essay credits Anand Bakshi with the words and Laxmikant–Pyarelal with the music, and describes director Subhash Ghai’s involvement in bringing the singer to the film. It also identifies later songs associated with films including Geet and Heer Ranjha. The written essay supplies credits and one writer’s account of her film work. It should be read separately from the performances themselves: neither the films nor the linked recordings were reviewed for this page.[2]

An interview about travel

In a 2004 Times of India interview in Lahore, Reshma described connections with both India and Pakistan and recalled singing for audiences in several countries. She also recounted meeting the people involved in Hero and recording Lambi Judaai. The reporter said she was preparing to travel to India; a planned visit in an interview is not by itself evidence of every subsequent performance. Her remarks preserve a first-person perspective alongside later accounts of her radio and film work. The interview’s recollections are attributed to the singer and should not be treated as an independently verified travel itinerary.[3]
