Market planning

Zahid Ali Khalid’s 2017 thesis places Hasilpur’s mandi development within the Sutlej Valley Project’s expanding canal landscape. It names Hasilpur on the Bahawal Canal after the opening of Islam and Panjnad headworks. The account describes commercially designated towns with separate grain-market, bazaar and residential plots, sold at higher rates. This concerns market development, rather than Hasilpur’s earliest settlement. Khalid cites the 1932 enquiry report for the plot arrangements; that underlying report has not been independently inspected here.[1]

Educational connections

In April 2011, Business Recorder reported Shahbaz Sharif telling a meeting that academic activities had begun in Daanish schools for boys and girls in Hasilpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Chishtian. The six-school figure covered the three places together. The report separately describes a planned school in Rajanpur: a committee was still identifying its location, and its foundation ceremony lay ahead.[2]

LUMS’s Hasilpur Base Visit 2026 account identifies local sessions at Daanish School for Boys, Daanish School for Girls and Government College for Boys. The National Outreach Programme explained eligibility, the structure of its Summer Coaching Session and early preparation. Teachers and counsellors also discussed financial verification and student support. These were concrete contacts between local institutions and a university admissions pathway; the account does not establish which participants later enrolled.[3]

Public institutions

On 12 August 2024, APP reported Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa’s inspection of Hasilpur’s tehsil headquarters hospital. He checked departments, medicine stocks and staff attendance, and asked patients about facilities. Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Rana accompanied him. The visit continued to Allama Iqbal Park, explicitly located in Hasilpur tehsil. A briefing described cleaning at bus stands, roads and intersections, followed by instructions to address complaints and drain rainwater. The account records inspection and official claims, not a later performance audit.[4]
