Town and tehsil
Kahror Pacca is a town and tehsil in Lodhran district. The 2023 census lists 98,325 people in its municipal committee, compared with 82,137 in 2017.[2]
A historic shrine
Pakistan’s Department of Archaeology and Museums lists the shrine of Hazrat Ali Sarwar in Kahror Pakka as a historic tomb. Its record describes a small-brick mausoleum reached by steps, with a decorated wooden door. It cautiously suggests a sixteenth- or seventeenth-century date and presents the associated lineage as a reported tradition. The listing records Auqaf ownership and protection under Punjab’s Special Premises ordinance. That is the status given in the registry, not a current condition survey or visitor advice. Further work on the building’s fabric and documentary history could refine the suggested date. The registry places the monument within Lodhran district in Punjab. The registry also gives a broad relative chronology of 1526–1857 CE.[3]
Looking beyond one monument
A 2025 Associated Press of Pakistan report describes a district agricultural department list of farmers whose applications for a cotton incentive met its criteria. It attributes 95 of the accepted applications to Kahror Pacca tehsil. The report records an official’s account of a particular scheme and selection process, not the total number of farmers in the tehsil or evidence that all applicants received payment. It gives one view of connections between the town’s wider administrative area and agricultural work. Land records, farmers’ accounts and local market histories can add perspectives on how cultivation and trade have changed over time. Town and tehsil figures describe different areas; check boundaries and definitions before comparing records from different years. The agricultural department’s list is one administrative record, so it cannot on its own describe working conditions or the experiences of all local farming households in the area.[1]
