A shrine in the public record

Punjab’s Auqaf shrine inventory lists Darbar and Masjid Hazrat Lal Esan Karor within its Dera Ghazi Khan zone. The paired shrine-and-mosque designation records an officially catalogued religious place; it does not supply a foundation inscription, architectural chronology or present visitor arrangements.[1]

A 2013 report described delayed restoration and prospective completion.[2]

The fair in a district gazetteer

The Punjab Food Authority’s Layyah food gazetteer describes Mela Chodhwein at Karor as a gathering commemorating Lal Esan. Its festival section lists activities including horse racing, tent pegging, wrestling, kabaddi and dodda. This is a district-level description of a recurring fair, connecting religious commemoration with public recreation rather than reducing the gathering to a single ceremony.[3]

The description is undated and cannot confirm a future programme or current arrangements. The gazetteer’s own disclaimer acknowledges possible errors in its inaugural edition. Its shrine genealogy, origin story and problematic river-position statement are not used to establish the town’s early history.[3]

Training for animal care

UVAS’s principal’s message dates its Karor Lal-Eason para-veterinary sub-campus to 2011 and locates it beside the government degree college on the bypass road. The university’s introduction links its purpose to training veterinary assistants, insemination technicians and other workers for southern Punjab. This is a specific educational institution, although it is also described under the broader label “Layyah Campus”.[4][5]

The introduction sets out objectives including livestock and poultry assistant diplomas, dairy-herd supervision and community livestock-extension training. It describes an outdoor veterinary dispensary and visits to private farms as parts of the learning environment. These connections give practical training a place in Karor’s institutional landscape. Because the pages mix provision with planned development, they do not verify that every proposed course or building is operating today. The 2011 date remains the principal’s institutional account.[4][5]
