A women’s college

Government College for Women Sadiqabad dates its beginning as an intermediate college to 1976. Its history says that classes initially used borrowed rooms in Government High School because a separate college building was unavailable. A dedicated building was handed over in 1987, with classrooms, offices, science laboratories and a library. The same institutional timeline records later blocks and hostels in 2009 and a solar installation in 2018. These are dates supplied by the college itself. They show how one educational institution describes the growth of its physical premises, rather than a complete account of every school or student in Sadiqabad.[1]

A second college history

Government Graduate College Sadiqabad gives a separate institutional history. It says that its intermediate classes began in 1976 at Government Primary School in Basti Mian Sahib, moved to a community hall in 1985 and shifted to a dedicated site and building in 1987. Its timeline records a computer laboratory in 2015, additional facilities and associate degree provision in 2021, and bachelor’s classes and a change to the graduate-college name in 2022. The similar founding and building dates do not make this history identical to that of the women’s college. Each institution’s own timeline describes a distinct set of premises and changes.[2]

Industry in a directory

A Punjab industrial directory for Rahim Yar Khan district lists firms at Sadiqabad addresses and nearby locations. One entry records Bashir Machinery Works on KLP Road as a maker of agricultural implements, with 1993 in its establishment-year field. Other entries include cement products near Chak 51 NP and ethanol at Chak 182/P on Manthar Road. Those chak addresses should not automatically be treated as being in the town centre. The directory records individual establishments and their reported fields when compiled. Its entries do not, by themselves, prove that each firm operates today or give a complete history of local industry.[3]
