Education in Rohtak

Saini Education Society in Rohtak describes its purpose as spreading education among Saini people and the wider public. Its homepage traces a modest beginning to a Chaupal, a community meeting place, in Mohalla Chamanpura. The institutions it lists include a coeducational college, a girls’ teacher-training college and schools. These institutions developed distinct settings for general schooling, teacher preparation and higher education. Its founding chronology needs attribution: the homepage gives 18 December 1950 for the legal entity, while its About page mentions activity since 1940 and registration in 1951. The original charter was not inspected to resolve the difference. Rohtak is now in Haryana, so this case should retain its own location within the wider region’s histories.[1][2]

A complex at Rupnagar

At Rupnagar, Saini Bhawan’s own history relates a December 1945 land donation to a later building project begun in April 1982. It distinguishes the Kaka Ram Saini Charitable Trust from the educational trust housed in the complex. The account describes tailoring and embroidery instruction, a library and the quarterly Saini Sansar. Publishing, practical training and educational assistance thus occupied related spaces. These are the institution’s accounts of its development and activities; the original donation deed was not consulted.[3]

A dated higher-study offer

A letter signed by educational-trust secretary Amarjit Singh on 13 August 2020 gives a more precisely dated example. Preserved on Punjabi University’s website, it requested circulation of the L. R. Mundra Memorial Scholarship for 2020–2021. The accompanying notice addressed Saini applicants pursuing postgraduate or higher study and named Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi in its regional remit. Its specified fields included science, technology, management, commerce and mass media. It advertised an approximate monthly amount of 25,000 rupees. The document records an invitation and its intended educational reach, rather than confirming awards or supplying current application rules.[4]
