A mill in the 1972 schedule

Darya Khan appears in the schedule to the Punjab Sugarcane Control Order 1972 through Adamjee Sugar Mills. The order linked named factories with a system controlling cane movement from reserved areas and the manufacture of sugar or gur within them. It places the town in a documented provincial sugar-industry network, rather than establishing the settlement’s foundation or the mill’s opening year.[1]

The distinction between refined sugar and gur also appears in the instrument’s definitions. These categories show how regulation addressed different products made from cane. The document is used here as a historical industrial record; its schedule does not provide a map of every grower’s land or establish present legal requirements.[1]

Factory location and corporate address

The Pakistan Sugar Mills Association’s 2024 directory names Darya Khan Sugar Mills Limited and places its mill location in Darya Khan, Bhakkar. It separately gives an office address in Lahore. Keeping those columns apart prevents a corporate mailing address from moving the factory out of its local industrial setting.[2]

The differently named 1972 and 2024 records should not, by themselves, be treated as a complete ownership history. They establish industrial references at two dates. They do not certify a chain of acquisitions, annual production, current employment or the proportion of townspeople dependent on the factory. Those questions require additional company and labour records.[2]

The mill name in field monitoring

An April 2026 Punjab pest-warning report records Darya Khan Sugar Mills under Bhakkar in its cane-monitoring table. The report organises observations through named mill areas, surveyed spots and acreage, with columns for pests or disease incidence and comparisons with other reporting periods. This connects the industrial name with agricultural field monitoring in the district.[3]

The table’s measurements belong to selected surveyed fields and reporting dates. They are not a diagnosis for the town, a total of all planted land, or evidence that every listed pest occurred. Read alongside the older order and later mill directory, the record shows different ways the state and industry documented cane production around Darya Khan.[3]
